No. The trial is fully free with no credit card required.

In most cases, LeapSheet can be installed without admin rights.
LeapSheet Compatible is an Office Add-in. It can be added to Excel in a few clicks directly from Microsoft AppSource, with no downloads or admin rights required.
The About tab in the LeapSheet app shows your current trial status and how many days remain.
Yes. When the trial expires, LeapSheet stops working. You can purchase a license and enter your key in the About tab to activate it.

LeapSheet (the primary product) is Windows-only. On Mac, use LeapSheet Compatible, which works on any platform that runs Excel.
LeapSheet (the primary product) is Windows-only. In Excel for Web, use LeapSheet Compatible, which works on any platform that runs Excel.
LeapSheet is the primary product — a native Windows add-in. It is more responsive, works offline, and supports a keyboard shortcut. LeapSheet Compatible works on Windows, Mac, and Excel for Web, but requires an internet connection. Both are covered by the same license.
Yes. LeapSheet works fully offline — an internet connection is only required for activation. Note that LeapSheet Compatible, the browser-based version, does require an internet connection to function.
Purchasing
As of this writing, individual licenses are $29. Corporate licensing is $20 per seat, with a minimum of 2 seats.
LeapSheet is a one-time purchase. Pay once and own it — no recurring fees.
An individual license covers up to two machines. If you need to activate on a third, you can deregister one of the existing two.
Accepted payment methods include major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, and China UnionPay), PayPal, and bank debits (e.g. ACH). Some payment methods are only available on certain devices or in certain locations.
Yes. A receipt is emailed to you automatically after purchase.
You will receive an email with your license key and activation instructions, as well as a receipt for your purchase.
Open LeapSheet, go to the About tab, enter your license key in the field provided, and click Activate. Please note: activation requires an internet connection.
Corporate Purchasing
Corporate licensing is seat-based. An admin purchases a pool of seats, each of which can be assigned to an employee. Seats can be reassigned, revoked, and managed from the admin portal.
The minimum initial purchase is 2 seats.
Yes. Additional seats can be added at any time, with no minimum.
Once the admin assigns a seat to an employee, their license key is delivered to them by email.
The admin can reassign the seat to another employee.
No. Each corporate seat is valid for one machine at a time.
The admin manages the license pool from the admin portal.
The admin portal is a web-based dashboard where the admin can manage the license pool, assign and revoke seats, and manage the corporate account.
Account & Portal
The portal can be accessed at leapsheet.com with the My Account link. The individual's license key or the corporate admin key is required.
Individual users can also directly access the portal, with no need for a key, via the Open Portal button in the app.
Additionally, portal links are included in the purchase emails from LeapSheet.
Visit the portal at leapsheet.com and click "Lost your key?" Enter your email address and your key will be sent to you.
Log in to the portal and go to your account settings. You can update your email address there. For security reasons, there will be a 30 day period during which the change can be cancelled.
Simply install and activate LeapSheet on the second machine using the same license key. Your individual license covers up to two machines.
Install LeapSheet on your new computer and activate it with your license key. If LeapSheet has already been installed on two machines, you will have the option of deregistering one.
A machine can be deregistered from the portal, or from within the app when activating on a new machine.
Usage
Once installed, LeapSheet loads automatically when Excel is opened. It can then be accessed with a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+J) or by clicking the LeapSheet button on the Home tab of the Excel ribbon.
In the Compatible version, the keyboard shortcut is not available. It is highly recommended to add a LeapSheet shortcut to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) and access it from there. Once added to the QAT, LeapSheet can also be accessed using Excel's built-in QAT keyboard shortcuts (Alt followed by the button's number in the toolbar).
Yes. The keyboard shortcut can be customized in the LeapSheet Settings tab.
Favorites are sheets you pin for quick access. They appear in a dedicated section on the main navigation screen. To add or remove favorites, go to the Favorites tab in the LeapSheet app.
Recents automatically tracks the sheets you have visited. The most recently visited sheets appear in a dedicated section on the main navigation screen, making it easy to backtrack. You can control how many recent sheets are displayed from the Settings tab.
Quick Return allows you to visit another sheet and return to where you started with a single keystroke. Simply open LeapSheet and press Enter — no searching required. This is especially useful when you need to quickly reference another sheet and come straight back. Quick Return is enabled by default and can be toggled from the Settings tab.
One-digit activation allows you to jump directly to a Favorite sheet by typing a single digit (1–9, 0), without even pressing Enter. It is enabled by default and can be toggled from the Settings tab.
Type a space before the number. For example, to search for "2025", type " 2025" with a leading space. This tells LeapSheet to treat the input as a search rather than a one-digit activation.
If you rename a sheet, LeapSheet detects the change and updates your favorites and recents accordingly.
No. Each workbook maintains its own set of Favorites and Recents.
No. Each user's Favorites and Recents are stored independently, even within a shared workbook.
Each workbook can have up to 50 Favorites, although in practice, adding more than about 10 tends to defeat the purpose.
